Founded in 1909, the 1st Molesey (Jaguar) Sea Scout group is based within the Esher District in East Molesey, Surrey near the River Thames. We have three sections taking boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14.
The group is lucky enough to be one of only 101 British Sea Scout groups recognized by the Royal Navy and therefore run water activities throughout the summer. We have a variety of water activities to offer and have exclusive access to our own fleet of kayaks, sailing dinghys, canoes and powered craft. Water activities are run under the instruction of qualified instructors on the river Thames between the locks of Sunbury and Molesey.
This year we are celebrating both 100 years of Scouting at 1st Molesey and 100 years of world Sea Scouting. Many of our members attended the international jamboree at the National Watersports centre in Nottingham and we have also held our own centenary events which were greatly enjoyed by both past and present members of the group.
